Here at The Courtyard Clinic we love how the ZO skincare range can transform skin to be in its best possible condition if prescribed correctly. To supplement this, or as a stand-alone treatment, the ZO peel range encourages the skin to renew superficially, glow from within and be optimally receptive to the beneficial ingredients in your skin care regime.
ZO professional peels are non-invasive skin procedures using medical grade skincare products. The way peels work is that the smaller molecules in the products can penetrate deeper into the skin than a typical facial and you see the added benefits of this intense skin care therapy. Deeper treatment means the skin can regenerate from further within. These treatments are called “peels” as they can remove the top surface of skin, revealing the revitalised skin underneath.
Are Peels Painful?
Chemical peels do sting a little but do not cause a huge amount of pain. There is very mild discomfort, but you should not worry about experiencing unbearable levels of pain. Your tolerance is generally built up, with your skin health professional, but you should always speak to them openly about what you can and cannot tolerate.
The peels we offer at The Courtyard Clinic are minimally invasive, therefore your skin isn’t going to peel off excessively.
The best peel for you:
Our professional peels are tailored to target different skin concerns and we will decide what is best for you at your skin consultation.
How many peels will I need?
The number of peels you need depends on your skin condition, the results you wish to achieve and the amount of down time you are looking for. We can perform stand-alone peels called our red carpet peel which is great for special events to get a skin pick me up and for hormonal skin to decongest it as and when, this has no down time. We can even do our red carpet peel over a lunch time. Or if there is a specific skin concern, we can do our deeper 3 step peel where we suggest a course of 1-3 depending on the severity of the condition. The skin needs to be prepared for this and expect some down time too.

What is in the ZO Red Carpet Peel?
This peel is gentle on the skin but strong enough to make a beautiful difference. This peel contains three different acids to exfoliate your skin and promote cell turnover:
10% Salicylic Acid
10% Lactic Acid
10% Citric Acid.
These are known as AHA (Alpha Hydroxy acids). They work by dissolving dead skin cells and exfoliate superficially. The salicylic acid works well on acnegenic skin, and the citric acid gives the skin a healthy glow.
