Posted in: Dentistry, by thecourtyardclinic, on 17th August 2011 | Comments Off on How to ….. teach children to brush their teeth!

Around 40% of children have tooth decay by the age of 5!

Here are some ways to help children to clean their teeth

Children do not have the dexterity to clean their own teeth until the are around 10 years old, therefore make sure you clean their teeth for them twice a day.

Tell a child to brush each tooth individually, it should take 2 minutes to brush your teeth.

Use disclosing tablets at least once a week

Electric tooth brushes are good especially the Sonicare for Kids

Start flossing around the age of 10.

make regular hygienist appointments.

It is one of the first things we notice when we meet someone for the first time, so it’s worth paying as much attention to your smile as you do to other aspects of your appearance.

We are an experienced dental team and are proud to deliver excellence, innovation and results that are second to none, using state of the art techniques in a practice dedicated to your comfort, wellbeing and most importantly, your smile.
